Dementia Care Program

The dementia care program is a support service which assists clients with dementia as well as their carers.

The railway cottage project is a day centre program specifically for clients with dementia and their carers. The cottage is situated in Railway Terrace, Victor Harbor. Access to the program will require an assessment by the DDC nurse before placement.
The program’s services include:
* Respite and support through day care activities
* Support through education
* Linking carers to carer support groups
* In-home respite care
* Links to other Southern Fleurieu Health Service workers
* Friendship Group: Operates on Mondays at Yankalilla
* Railway Cottage: offers day care on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, flexible evening and overnight respite care (maximum of two nights) is also available.
* Activities including woodwork, craft, community outings with support workers, as well as meals provided for a small fee.
* Transport is provided through the Health Service bus, local taxis or Christian Community Care Yankalilla
