Top level Community Health Services South Coast Carers Support


The Carer Support drop in Centre offers support, information and advocacy to Carers. A Carer is anyone who provides a care and support to a parent, partner, child or friend who has a disability, is frail aged, or has a chronic mental or physical illness.

The Centre is open 10am—4pm Monday to Friday and is located at 63 Victoria Street, Victor Harbor. Contact Janis Haynes on 8552 7419.

The Carer Support Centre offers nine Carer Support Groups:

* Victor Carers

* Goolwa Carers

* Time OUT (Yankalilla)

* Stokers (for parents/caregivers of children with challenging behaviours)

* Dementia Carers

* HIP (for Carers of Hearing Impaired Partners)

* Southern Fleurieu Partners of Vietnam veterans

* Men's Carer

* Walking (available to all Carers)

In addition we offer support, counselling, advocacy, information and referrals to other services, carer days out and a retreats program. We also offer exercise classes, massage, facials and a regular newsletter. Respite is provided free of charge to allow carers to attend group activities.
