Top level Community Health Services Nutrition and Dietary Services


The nutrition/dietary service offers a wide range of useful information and advice on a number of different issues:

  • Healthy eating for children and adults
  • Vegetarian diets
  • Weight control
  • Diabetes, impaired glucose tolerance and hypoglycemia
  • High cholesterol or triglyceride levels
  • High blood pressure
  • Food allergy and intolerance (including asthma, hay-fever, hives, eczema, migraines, headaches, irritable bowel, mouth ulcers, behaviour disturbances)
  • Gastro-intestinal problems
  • Kidney and liver diseases
  • Eating problems, such as poor appetite, swallowing problems, tube feeding


Talks to community groups or schools can be arranged.
Supermarket tours are held monthly.

Nutrition, recipe books and videos are available for loan.

Home visits can be arranged.

We are happy to work with community groups and schools on nutrition/healthy eating programs.
