What is the ELF program?

It’s a Southern Fleurieu Health Service Program which aims to:

* Support children to reach their full potential

* Support parents & caregivers to maximise their parenting & educational role with children.

Who are Services for?

ELF therapy and counselling services are for children from 0—5 years (exception Speech Pathology 0-4years)

Who are the ELFS?

* Occupational therapist: drawing, cutting, writing, sensory, play and self help skills

* Speech Pathologist: communication, social and feeding skills

* Physiotherapist: movement, walking, coordination and balance

* Social Worker: support and counselling for children and their parents

ELFS Services Available

The ELF program offers a range of services including:

* Identifying needs of child and family through consultation with parents & caregivers as well as assessment

* Individual therapy sessions provided by one or more members of the team to provide advice and promote child development

* Group programs for children and families with additional needs

* Workshops and education programs for parents, staff and community members to help them to better understand & promote children’s development in specific areas

* Support programs and counselling for families to help them with parenting, building family relationships and linking them with other services and programs

Where are services provided?

Services provided are flexible & offered in different locations to suit families needs e.g.

* At home

* In the community e.g. childcare, kindy, school, playgroup

* At Southern Fleurieu Health Service

How to reach the ELF team

* Referrals for this service require parental consent and can be made by parents, caregivers and other service providers (teachers, health professionals, child care workers). If you are not sure whether your child requires assistance please ring and talk with one of the team about your child’s difficulties

The ELF Team work Thursdays, Fridays and alternate Wednesdays, messages can be left for us on other days.

The ELF program is a free service.
